Picture quality? Stunning. Colors pop, and 4K streaming looks amazing. But webOS is sloooow. Feels like navigating through molasses.

USB-C is clutch. One cable for charging and display. Perfect for my MacBook.

WebOS is trash. Apps crash, and it’s laggy. If you don’t need the smart features, it’s fine, but don’t rely on it for apps.

  • Overpriced. You can get a better 4K panel with HDR support from LG or Dell for the same money.

  • Disagree. USB-C + built-in speakers + decent panel = solid all-in-one for a desk setup.

Speakers? Meh. They’re tinny and weak. You’ll want external ones.

Great for multitasking. I use it for coding and video editing. No complaints on the display itself.

27" MyView Smart Monitor 4K UHD IPS with webOS and USB Type-C™: Should You Buy It?

Highlights and Advantages

  • Stunning 4K UHD resolution for crisp, detailed visuals.
  • Integrated webOS smart platform for seamless streaming and app access.
  • Versatile connectivity options, including USB Type-C for simplified single-cable setup.

Similares

  • LG 27UL850-W: Offers HDR support for enhanced contrast and color accuracy, surpassing the MyView monitor in visual fidelity.
  • Dell U2720Q: Boasts a slightly higher color gamut for more vibrant and accurate color reproduction.
  • ASUS ProArt PA278QV: Provides superior color accuracy and calibration features, ideal for professional color-critical work.

What You Need to Know Before Buying

Before purchasing a 27" monitor like this, consider the following technical aspects:

  • Screen Size and Resolution: Ensure a 27" screen fits your workspace and that your system can handle the 4K resolution without significant performance impact.
  • Connectivity: Check that the monitor's connectivity options (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C) are compatible with your devices. Confirm the USB-C port's capabilities (power delivery, data transfer).
  • Panel Type (IPS): While IPS is generally excellent, understand that viewing angles are still finite; check reviews for potential issues related to specific IPS panels.

Extra Tips

  1. Read detailed reviews from multiple sources to get a well-rounded perspective on the monitor's performance and potential drawbacks.
  2. Consider the monitor's ergonomics: Adjustability (height, tilt, swivel) can significantly impact comfort during prolonged use.
  3. Check the warranty offered by the manufacturer.
  4. Evaluate the monitor's power consumption to factor in its running costs.
  5. If using it for color-sensitive work, consider a professional calibration device.
